Kevin Boyd ImageDr. Kevin Boyd has been pastor of Saint Paul Presbyterian Church since 2004. He grew up in the Sharpstown neighborhood of Houston. Kevin has been a pastor for more than 20 years. He was chaplain of Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, pastor of United Presbyterian Church in Walhalla, N.D., associate pastor of Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in Port Arthur, pastor of Gonzales Presbyterian Church in Gonzales, Texas, and senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church in McAlester, Okla. He was organizing pastor of the Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church new church development in Katy. Kevin has a bachelor of science degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, and master of divinity and doctor of divinity degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. An accomplished guitarist, he enjoys writing and performing Christian music and has had several songs published. He shares his love of music with his wife, Carlette, a teacher. The Boyds have two children, Christy and Carey, and enjoy camping, gardening, and playing with their Shelties.

Lynne Ruth is church administrator at Saint Paul, where she has worked 18 years. Lynne is a Fellow in Church Administration Level II from the Administrative Personnel Association of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A). She has two grown daughters, one son-in-law and one grandson. Raised in nearby Bellaire, she has lived in the Houston area most of her life. She graduated from Bellaire High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.

Melvin Ballard has been organist/music director at Saint Paul since 1986. Melvin was born in Texarkana, Texas, and grew up in the suburbs of Little Rock, Arkansas. He received a bachelor of music with emphasis in organ performance from Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. He served churches in Arkansas before receiving a masters degree in music with emphasis in organ performance at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1962. Melvin has served as an organist/director in Pine Bluff, Little Rock and El Dorado, Arkansas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Houston. While serving First United Methodist Church in El Dorado, Melvin represented Arkansas as a recitalist for the Regional American Guild of Organists in New Orleans in 1966. In Baton Rouge, he served 16 years as organist at First United Methodist Church. After moving to Houston, Melvin became the organist at Terrace United Methodist Church and then organist/ director at Saint Paul. He and his wife Sara Stewart Ballard have three children, Thomas, Fredonna, and Margaret, and five grandchildren.

Sara Plant is director of Early Childhood Ministries, the day school at Saint Paul.
